Agree with ALL comments by you guys! :ok:  To me, the most touching part of the movie is when March & Loy meet in the hallway when he comes home.  If you don't like this movie, you can't like ANY movie.

For any of you who never heard of this picture, set your DVRs for TCM at 430 Saturday morning.  It's "Bad Day at Black Rock."  You won't be disappointed you did.

Saw a movie last nite that I was told was 'cute'. it was called "Whip It", and NO weeze, it wasn't an S/M flix. It was suppose to be a cute comedy about the world of Roller Derby, and, I guess, the biggest thing about it was it was directed by Drew Barrymore.
IMVHO Drew should stick to acting, and leave directing to Scorsese, Spielberg, Cameron and fellows like them.

I just thought this movie was particularly boring, with several spots where I could have slept and not missed much of the movie. Even the Roller Derby parts (and I used to LOVE Roller Derby on TV) wasn't very exciting.

Just to be honest, my wife liked it a little bit, so maybe it appeals to the female species more than the male. Look, it wasn't horrible, just boring and slow. Not what I expected at all.

I saw Hurt Locker last night.  It was a very good and well done movie even though the movie had a small budget.  The thing I liked the least was the jittery camera style they used.  There were several tense scenes and you get a feel of what day to day life is like as a soldier in Iraq.

I watched two episodes of Route 66 via Netflix instant downloads and I enjoyed them.  I always liked shows where the main character(s) were traveling or on a journey of some kind(like The Incredible Hulk series).  Both stories were interesting and George Maharis is a really good actor.

I got hooked on TCM tonight.  Right after I got home from church (Sat evening Mass), I turned on TCM & it was in the middle of "Great Escape."  They followed that with "Bullitt" then "French Connection."  WOW!  That's the channel to watch this month.  Even though I have all three of them, I couldn't turn them off.  I finally turned it off after the el/car chase so I can get to bed.

As per my list I put up, I watched BOTH these movies yesterday and today(nothing else to do in between shoveling), Network with William Holden and Peter Finch, and Stalag 17 with Oscar winner William Holden in a terrific role.
Network is a great movie, but there are parts that do drag a bit. Peter Finch who won the Oscar after he passed, was terrific and when he was on screen, the movie was alive. Faye Dunaway was a joy to look at also. That said, I just love Stalag 17. It was what the TV show Hogan's Hero's was based on. Just my 'kind of' movie.

I recently joined Netflix and when I did I put "A Private Function" in my queue.  It was listed as a "long wait" so I moved it to the top in order to get it as soon as it did become available.  Took three weeks but it finally showed up a few days ago.  Its a British movie that got a very limited run here in the US  back in the mid 80's, and starred Michael Palin and Maggie Smith.  I originally saw it back when it came out on vhs, and I laughed just as hard this time around.  Don't expect a Python film, its not, it is very funny though.  Takes place in post WWII England when rationing was the way of the day.  Highly recommended.

Yesterday, being another sort of 'snow day' I was looking for something good to watch. Lo and behold, there it was, Pulp Fiction, a movie I loved when it came out, and haven't seen it since. It was great to sit back and watch Travolta's comeback, an all star cast in a terrific movie.
I know this movie has its share of those who love it or hate it, no middle ground. I'm in the former department and my wife is in the latter. So I got to eat all the munchies I wanted as she wasn't around to tell me no more.

 Just a great movie.

Watched a movie last night, "Taking Woodstock' supposedly how the concert got started in the particular place it did.  It was interesting and I really don't know how much was truth and how much was Hollywood. I found the first half pretty good, a bit funny and interesting, especially if you lived thru those years and remember Woodstock. The second half sort of deteriorated into a talk fest, tried to get serious and sort of ran out of gas. If I were rating it, I would give it 2 maybe 21/2 stars, but only if you were from that generation. Not terrible, but not good.

The original movie about Woodstock was great even if you weren't there. This particular movie tried to show scenes from the original with the nun flashing the peace sign, the port-a-john guy giving an interview etc.
It might be better to rent the original, sit back and remember of we really dressed like that back then.

I just watched 'The Hurt Locker' and agree with all the others who thought this was a very good movie. It was an extremely powerful movie. If I had one objection, and it is only my own personnel taste, there was just too much of that hand held camera, but overall, an excellent movie.

Just watched a bootleg copy of 'Shutter Island' with Leonardo DiCaprio.

I really don't know how describe this movie. I expected it to be a bit more sinister, and a bit more Hitchcock, which I didn't find at all. In fact, what is advertised as a scary type movie, really isn't.

i wasn't enthralled by the movie, and, for sure, this is far from DiCaprio's best work (not even close).

I can't say too much about this movie as it has a lot of twists and turns, but I was more than a bit disappointed in it.
