speaking of 3-D.  I saw the new 3-D televisions.  How long is this faze going to last?  You need to invest in a pair of $99 glasses (or the advanced for $189 with a rebate) which need to be charged up.

I'll give it one year.

For Civil War lovers, tonight at 10:00PM on the History Channel is "Sex In The Civil War".

If you like the TV show Cops, you might really like "Manhunters: Fugitive Task Force" on A&E Thursdays at 10:00PM.  The whole half hour show is a team of U.S. Marshalls tracking down a fugitive on the run.

Yesterday I got "The Blind Side."  Good movie.  However, For the first time, I saw how LT broke Theisman's leg.  Harry Carson was the first one to grab Theisman and he was starting to pull him down.  Theisman's leg was bent & LT came crashing into it right at the knee.  Never saw that picture of the play before.  Has anyone seen it before?

I hate to include the word NASTY, but that is part of being a winning football team.

Tonight we are taking a page out of Lenn's book.  I went to blockbuster and got some movies for a Friday Night (and maybe Saturday Night) family movie night.  The four I chose was Sherlock Holmes, 2012, Law Abiding Citizen and Couples Retreat.  I know Sherlock Holmes will be up first.  Who knows after that. . .

I saw Clash of the Titans today.  It was OK.  Nothing great.  Maybe stories of Greek Mythology doesn't do much for me.  It wasn't real engaging.  We saw the 3D version.  The 3D was nice but after watching Avatar in 3D, I was expecting more.

I've seen all of them and liked most, some better than others. I'll be waiting to hear what you think.

Only watched Sherlock Holmes last night.  I know he is not supposed to be an action hero and from the Basil Rathbone series I recorded, Watson was older and not his "equal".

I really didn't care for it.  There were some timeline issues and I really didn't like the slow motion explanation before the regular speed action.  To me, the movie seemed very "jumpy" in story line and action.  It was ok, but I don't know if I would waste my time on the sequel when it comes out.

Last night we watched what may be my vote for worst movie of the year so far, "Men Who Stare at Goats"
with a great cast that didn't do much except get a pay check.
I had heard that people really liked this movie, I would like to meet those people and really find out WHY?
This had to be one of the stupidest movies that I have seen in quite some time. Let's just leave it at that and move on.

Watched 2012 last night.  It had it's moments and was kind of fun in a way.  If you overlook the realistic aspects of it and just go for the entertainment / special effects of it, then it was a lot of fun.  On a side, note - those who have not seen it and rent the dvd, do NOT watch the alternate ending.  It is way too cheesy and over the top that I wish I never watched it. . .

i may have posted this before but the 'hound of the baskervilles" one with peter cushing i thought was maybe even better then the basil rathbourne one. of course it was a newer and a little more 'supernatural" about the story line. they were both well made movies.
that peter cushing /christopher lee combination i thought was impressive. they did make some crappy british movies but i know they did one dracula that was really good!

Watch the "Hound..." in the series that starred Jeremy Brett; sticks right to the original story and is veeeeery good.  The Cushing/Lee Dracula flick was "The Horror of Dracula."  Terrific movie.  IMO, the best Dracula film was the British film "Count Dracula" made in 1977.  It followed Stoker's book almost page by page.  Louis Jourdan played Dracula.

\ We watched a pretty good animated flix last nite, "Planet 51".

There were some real good laughs in this take off of aliens coming to another planet. animation was not as good as Pixar's, but once you got into the story, who cared. There were some scary scenes that might make little ones scared, and even the story was more for an 'older' crowd. I just don't know why they make animated films and then try so hard to aim them at a more mature audience.
That said, a good family movie, with some real good laughs.

So far, Couples Retreat has been the funniest of the four we rented.  We will do Law Abiding Citizen tomorrow and I dont see that being funny.
